My twelve (12) year old daughter joined In the Middle the fall of 2013. When she started, she was very guarded and skeptical. The therapists implemented a creative curriculum that enhanced her social skills, such as sharing, turn-taking, and good sportsmanship. Through the school year, I saw her integrate what she learned into her daily life. The Club is a good organization that provided her a safe environment to take appropriate social risks with kids and practice connecting with other people. After most sessions, my daughter talked about her new friends and the prizes she earned that day. During the summer of 2014, my daughter asked if she could go to the Club during the next school year. I would highly recommend In the Middle as a resource for developing in a welcoming environment.
